That is so cool! If I had the skills to make stuff like that, I'd be so torn about whether to keep is safe or leave it outside to battle the elements / people.
At some point you could try a solar panel one with a bright LED light... Maybe a panel on the base behind him, if he doesn't cast a shadow over it.
