Not bad! I like the idea/setting you chose for this, great colors but your line work could use some improvement. Also the white lines on the trees are kinda distracting, maybe try blurring them out?
All in all pretty good work! Keep it up, and you got yourself a new follower.

Squanch-thegirl responds:

Thanks so much for your comments! I know what you mean about the trees, hindsight hey :/ at the time I thought it worked and kind of forgot about it once i had added everything together. But you're right, i think simply burring them would have done the trick! I still have the PSD file so I could go in an re-touch it if you wanted to see - but I think rather redraw with a better foundation next time :)

Also as for the lines (you might have some tips) I draw the lines with my mouse after taking a photo of a sketch. I use photoshop's line tool to map out all the lines (then stroke) but sometimes it doesn't want to curve the right way and I don't really know how to get around that. I'm saving up for a tablet, hopefully i'll have one by the end of this year so then I can really get creative with digital art! In the meantime I'm always trying to figure out way to get my lines more natural looking with the pen tool and I think I have improved so far, so I'm just gonna keep at it! (Sorry for the novel haha) Thanks again! Holly

Damn, you keep improving my man! Very well done, especially love the octopus and his instruments!
Also great use of actual mechanical parts, really adds to the feeling.

So you use colored clay for this right? Maybe I should give that a shot sometime, I'm used to normal sculpey and painting it with acrylics later.

The first time a piece of art on here has brought me to tears... So recognizable, Amazing job.

Very cool! You should consider making a comic based on a Lovecraft story, I'd pay for that!

How have I not seen this before? Amazing work of an amazing goofster.

Oh man I remember being really disturbed watching the original 10 years back, but over the years it turned into one of my favorite flash submissions on here. I have to admit your style in this kinda inspired my own style I used in my first flash submissions. All in all, a nostalgic piece to see again, I love it!

Very impressive, amazing story to go with it. Do i sense some Mad Max influence in there? I just noticed you're only 17, blew me away. Keep up the good work man!

Kiabugboy responds:

Yeah, almost all of my post apocalyptic drawings has some mad max influence in there :p

I'd love to see your work in MTG one day!

Qunit responds:

Tnx m8! hope so 2 :)

Wow. This is my favorite piece I've seen so far for Pixel Day, I love it!
Really impressed with the lighting and color scheme you chose, keep up the good work!

BenjaminLefferts responds:

Aw, thanks man! That's nice to hear.

I love it! reminds me of the first art piece I've ever uploaded here. NG doesn't want me to post HTML so check it out I guess...

ThePsychoSheep responds:

I love checking out people's first submissions. It really shows how much they have went through to get to the level they are now :D
